선악의 저편

괴물과 싸우는 사람은 그 싸움 속에서
스스로도 괴물이 되지 않도록 조심해야 한다.
우리가 괴물의 심연을 오래동안 들여다 본다면,
그 심연 또한 우리를 들여다 보게될 것이다.

Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.
Whoever battles with monsters had better see that it does not turn him into a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze  for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

정말 멋진 말이 아닌가 싶다..
선과 악은 결국 본질이 같다는 말인가..
그렇다면 선과 악을 나누는건 바로 인간 자신의 이기을 위해서인가..
